Dawud Bey, born and raised in South Philadelphia, is the founder of Global Development for Economic Change and a former Pennsylvania grassroots organizer for Reform Alliance.
Dawud is a long-time community activist engaging with young black males in predominantly marginalized communities. Through his work with Reform Alliance, Dawud has used his platform to connect with influencers such as Van Jones, Meek Mills, and Jay-Z to provide resources to combat the broken criminal justice system.
Currently, Dawud continues to strive for social justice and economic development through his MBE-certified construction and development firm. His company offers employment opportunities as well as clean, safe, affordable housing which will lower poverty and contribute to the reduction of gun violence in the City of Philadelphia.
